Recipes

Welcome to Abstinent Kitchen – a sacred space created just for you, the compulsive overeater, the binge eater, the eating disordered, the volume eater, or the food addict in recovery.

This is more than just a recipe site. It’s a place of hope, healing, and transformation.

WHY ABSTINENT RECIPES?

If you’ve tried every diet and still felt out of control with food, you are not alone. Many of us in recovery have discovered that we’re addicted to certain substances in food, particularly sugar and flour.

These ingredients can trigger obsession, cravings, and the devastating cycle of binging, restricting, and shame.

The recipes here are:

  • Sugar-Free and Flour-Free
  • No sneaky chemical substitutes that mimic the old way of eating
  • Rooted in recovery food plans like those used in 12 step recovery programs

From One Food Addict To Another:

I’m not a chef. I am simply a woman in recovery. A former compulsive overeater, binge eater, all day grazer, sugar addict, and flour addict who, for years, turned to food as a source of comfort.

I now live in the solution and Abstinent Kitchen is one of my sacred tools.

  • The kitchen is not just where I make meals.
  • The kitchen is where I remember who I am.
  • It’s a space I connect with my Higher Power.
  • It’s where I nourish my recovery – one meal, one plate, one bite at at time.

Every dish shared here supports sugar-free and flour-free abstinence and honors the structure of recovery and food plans that have helped countless people reclaim their lives from the grips of food obsession and food noise.
